Neuroth<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Organization<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VDI\/DIN Commission on Air\nPollution Prevention (KRdL) was founded in March 1990 and is located in\nD\u00fcsseldorf. It is a joint committee of VDI (Association of German Engineers)\nand DIN (German Institute for Standardization). It is the successor of the VDI\nCommission on Air Pollution Prevention (VDI-Kommission Reinhaltung der Luft)\nfounded in 1957 and the Standards Committee on Air Pollution Control of DIN\n(Normenausschuss Luftreinhaltung im DIN). This new Commission holds the\nsecretariats of both ISO\/TC 146 \u201eAir Quality\u201c and CEN\/TC 264 \u201eAir Quality\u201c.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KRdL consists of approximately 170 committees and working groups in\nwhich more than 1250 experts from the fields of industry, science and\nadministration work on a honorary basis. The Commission works by order of the\nFederal Minister of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety,\nand is supported financially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The KRdL is responsible for\nthe preparation of VDI guidelines and DIN standards which address the problem\nof air pollution and provide means of prevention. Furthermore, it assists in\nelaborating preliminary and final DIN\/EN and DIN\/ISO standards.
