Scientific advice

EFCA contributes by presenting the advancement of science and its application in policy development in the areas of environmental protection, in particular when addressing air pollution or climate change. It is doing this by sponsoring and encouraging its members to organise international conferences, workshops or special sessions on relevant themes in these areas and by promoting the debate in Europe. EFCA also monitors the development of environmental legislation in Europe and may check whether it is not at odds with the actual scientific knowledge base in its fields of interest. 

Documentation of scientific and policy developments

It is making the progress in these areas accessible by stimulating its members to publish proceedings and to draft more concise conference reports written for policymakers. 

Scientific expertise

EFCA may compose teams of experts on a variety of topics within its field onrequest. It may also manage and conduct peer review studies.
