Coal as a Christmas gift
by Andrzej Jagusiewicz, president of EFCA COP-24 in Katowice (Poland) in 2019 teased its participants with marvellous jewellery, almost all types from ring to necklace, decorated with a sculptured piece of anthracite, the least harmful coal to air pollution if burnt. A very nice souvenir for many participants who bought it, much nicer than the outcome of the Conference. No surprise in the country where 75 % of energy is produced of coal, although the latter is responsible for about 40% of annual CO2 emissions globally and almost 100 % of smog in many Polish cities and towns.
